Taiwan Tourism Bureau participated in OTM and held Workshops in Mumbai and Bengaluru

Taiwan Tourism Bureau participated in OneWorld Travel Mart, an annual event that was held from 21-23 February 2017 in Mumbai, India.

1154 participants from 60 countries participated in OTM, who showcased their best products to trade visitors from all over India. In order to boost the number of visitors to Taiwan Tourism Bureau stand, many traditional dance and music performances were carried by a crew that flew to India especially from Taiwan.

The three day exhibition was a great platform for B2B session between the Indian travel agents and the stake holders from the Taiwanese Travel industry including and Princess Cruise, The Grand Hotel, Cathay Pacific, Tai-Yi Red Maple Resort, Grand Hyatt Taipei, destination management companies like Apple Travel Service, Chung Hsing Travel Service, Edison Tours and many more.

Taiwan was also awarded the Best Decoration Award at the exhibition.

Taiwan had witnessed an exponential growth of Indian tourists in the year 2016. Since India is one of the major markets for Taiwan, Taiwan Tourism Bureau held tourism workshops in Mumbai and Bengaluru to successfully market Taiwan tourism and to attract greater segments of Indian visitors.

The aim of the workshops was to educate the travel agents of Mumbai and Bengaluru, and update their knowledge about Taiwan, the products it has to offer, USP’s of the destination and the how it caters to different segments of the Indian travelers.

Present at the workshops was a delegation from Taiwan that included Arthur Hsieh, Director, Taiwan Tourism Bureau, Singapore Office and Cherng Tyan, Su, Vice Chairman, Taiwan Visitors Association.

Speaking at the Mumbai Workshop that was held in Trident, BKC, Cherng Tyan, Su, Vice Chairman, Taiwan Visitors Association said, “India is one of the major markets for Taiwan.”

An Informative presentation was given on Taiwan by Noel Saxena, Country Head, Taiwan Tourism Bureau. The presentation had detailed information about Taiwan, educating the travel agents about everything one would need to know for visiting Taiwan, staring from the easy of getting a visa to the places to visit in Taiwan.

In order to further strengthen the promotional effect and to make the workshop even more interesting, Taiwan Tourism Bureau arranged a special questionnaire round, where the travel agents were given a set of questions regarding Taiwan. Top 20 performers were awarded with iphone 6, ipad Mini 2, and packages from Princess Cruise, Grand Hyatt Taipei and The Grand Hotel and flight tickets to Taiwan from Cathay Pacific.

The workshops were made even more engaging by a Q&A round, where travel agents cleared all their doubts regarding the hotels, food, transportation, visas, launguage etc and won exciting giveaways from Taiwan Tourism Bureau.
